Description

This artisanal balm combines grass-fed Azorean tallow infused with chamomile, extra virgin olive oil, and Azorean beeswax. Although formulated for body use, this balm may also be applied to the face, provided that facial skin tolerates olive oil well.

Just a little goes a long way: a small amount is enough to do its job, allowing the product to last a long time. Shelf life is 6 months after opening.

Tallow presents a lipid structure highly biocompatible with human skin, reinforcing the skin barrier and supporting long-lasting hydration (Russell et al., 2024; Kowalska et al., 2017). Chamomile is widely recognised for its soothing, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, attributed to compounds such as α-bisabolol and chamazulene (Akram et al., 2024).

Clinical studies indicate that chamomile extracts can offer improvements in eczema comparable to low-dose hydrocortisone creams, reducing itching, redness, and scaling (Aertgeerts et al., 1985; Zari & Zari, 2015). More recent research further demonstrates that chamomile reduces inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, IL-17, TNF-α) and inhibits signalling pathways associated with reactive skin, contributing to the restoration of cutaneous balance (Wang et al., 2021).

Chamomile also supports wound healing and exhibits antimicrobial activity beneficial for compromised skin, while improving hydration and reinforcing the protective skin barrier (Akram et al., 2024; Melnyk et al., 2022).

Ingredients: Tallow (Grass-fed Azorean Beef Tallow), Matricaria recutita (Chamomile), Olea Europaea Fruit Oil (Extra Virgin Olive Oil), Cera Alba (Azorean Beeswax).

Directions for Use: Apply a small amount to damp skin and gently massage. The balm forms a protective layer that seals in the skin’s natural moisture. Store in a cool, dry place.

Precautions: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Note: As this is an artisanal product, natural variations between batches may occur.
