Multifloral Bee Pollen
Description
This product is bee pollen harvested artisanally in Mafra, Portugal, with no heat treatment, fully preserving its natural composition rich in proteins, essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals and bioactive compounds.
One teaspoon a day is enough to benefit from its properties. Regular consumption over 4 to 6 weeks is recommended. Store in a cool, dry place away from light.
Bee pollen is collected by worker bees from flowers and transported to the hive, where it serves as the colony's primary source of protein. It is considered by the scientific community one of the most nutritionally complete natural foods, containing on average 22% protein with all essential amino acids, slow-release carbohydrates, unsaturated fatty acids, B-complex vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E and minerals such as zinc, iron and magnesium (Khalifa et al., 2021).
Its bioactive compounds, namely flavonoids and phenolic acids, give it antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties documented in scientific literature (Qiao et al., 2024; El Ghoizi et al., 2023). The nutritional richness of pollen varies according to its botanical and geographical origin, and this diversity is one of the characteristics that defines its quality (Kieliszek et al., 2018). Being raw and unheated, this pollen keeps intact its heat-sensitive compounds, including enzymes and thermolabile vitamins.
Ingredients:
100% bee pollen (Mafra, Portugal).
Contents: 200 g e
How to use: Take one teaspoon per day. To improve nutrient absorption, it is recommended to chew the granules well before swallowing, in order to break the sporoderm, the natural film that coats each pollen grain. Alternatively, you can soak the pollen in raw honey for 2 to 3 days before consuming — the acidic environment of honey helps soften and break this film, enhancing the absorption of bioactive compounds. It can also be consumed directly, dissolved in warm (not hot) water, or added to yoghurt or fruit.
Precautions: Do not give to children under 12 months of age. Not recommended for people with a known allergy to bee products or pollen. If in doubt, consult your doctor before use. Does not replace a varied and balanced diet.
