Lavender Tallow Lip Balm
Description
This artisanal lip balm combines Azorean grass-fed tallow with macerated lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and Azorean beeswax. Tallow presents a lipid structure highly biocompatible with human skin, contributing to the reinforcement of the cutaneous barrier and the maintenance of the lips’ natural hydration, without causing excessive occlusion (Russell et al., 2024; Kowalska et al., 2017).
Just a little goes a long way: a small amount is enough to do its job, allowing the product to last a long time. Shelf life is 6 months after opening.
Lavender is traditionally recognised for its anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and skin-regenerating properties. Its main bioactive compounds, such as linalool and linalyl acetate, demonstrate antimicrobial activity and support natural wound-healing processes, making lavender particularly beneficial for sensitive or compromised skin (Batiha et al., 2023; Białoń et al., 2019).
Azorean beeswax forms a natural protective barrier that reduces transepidermal water loss, helping to preserve lip softness and comfort. Scientific literature further describes emollient, regenerative, and mildly antiseptic properties, especially relevant for exposed and delicate areas such as the lips (Kurek-Górecka et al., 2020; Nong et al., 2023).
Ingredients: Tallow (Grass-fed Azorean Beef Tallow), Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender), Cera Alba (Azorean Beeswax).
Directions for Use: Apply a small amount to the lips whenever necessary. Forms a protective layer that helps retain natural moisture and protect against external aggressors. Store in a cool, dry place.
Precautions: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Note: As this is an artisanal product, natural variations between batches may occur.
