Grass-fed Tallow & Plantain Soap
Description
This soap combines Azorean grass-fed beef tallow with macerated plantain, a plant traditionally used to soothe and protect the skin.
Scientific literature describes plantain as a plant with anti-inflammatory, soothing, and antioxidant properties, associated with the presence of phenolic compounds, flavonoids, and mucilages. These components contribute to skin comfort and support the integrity of the skin barrier (Dawid-Pać, 2013; Kósa et al., 2021).
Studies further indicate that Plantago lanceolata extracts may support natural skin regeneration processes and help protect the skin against surface microorganisms, making it traditionally suitable for sensitive, irritated, or fragile skin.
The soap is wrapped in a reusable beeswax cloth 🐝. Colour may vary between batches due to the artisanal nature of production. An alternative packaging option in unbleached beige parchment paper is also available.
