Description

This chest balm was formulated to support the natural relief of mild respiratory symptoms, such as congestion, cough, and discomfort associated with colds and flu, through the gradual release of botanical aromas traditionally used for this purpose.

Just a little goes a long way: a small amount is enough to do its job, allowing the product to last a long time. Shelf life is 6 months after opening.

The combination of eucalyptus, thyme, oregano, and rosemary brings together scientific evidence of expectorant, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory activity, contributing to a sensation of clearer airways and improved comfort during acute respiratory episodes (Pecoraro et al., 2024). Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) is widely used in chest balms due to its content of 1,8-cineole (eucalyptol), which has been associated with easier breathing, expectorant effects, and antimicrobial activity (Moreira et al., 2022; Brezáni et al., 2018). Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) has antitussive, expectorant, and antispasmodic properties, with clinical evidence supporting reductions in cough frequency and intensity in respiratory infections (Kowalczyk et al., 2020; Patil et al., 2021). Oregano (Origanum vulgare) contributes antiviral and antibacterial activity, including documented action against respiratory viruses, while rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) provides anti-inflammatory and antioxidant support and is traditionally associated with relieving body discomfort during flu-like states (Blank et al., 2019; González-Minero et al., 2020).

Azorean grass-fed tallow acts as a biocompatible lipid base that supports easy application, helps the extracts remain on the skin surface, and enhances massage comfort, without being the product’s primary functional component.

Ingredients:  Tallow (Grass-Fed Cow Tallow from the Azores), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary), Origanum Vulgare (Oregano), Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme), Eucalyptus Globulus (Eucalyptus), Olea Europaea Fruit Oil (Extra Virgin Olive Oil), Cera Alba (Beeswax).

Directions for Use:  Apply a thin layer to the chest, back, or neck and massage gently to release the botanical aroma. For children under 3 years, apply only to the soles of the feet and put on socks. If skin sensitivity occurs, apply only to the back or feet. Store in a cool, dry place.

Precautions:  For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Note:  As this is an artisanal product, natural variations between batches may occur.
