Grass-fed Tallow & Calendula Soap

Packaging

Description

This soap combines Azorean grass-fed beef tallow with macerated calendula (Calendula officinalis), one of the most extensively studied medicinal plants for dermatological use.

Calendula exhibits a strong anti-inflammatory action, demonstrated by its ability to inhibit mediators such as COX-2, 5-LO, and nitric oxide (NO), thereby reducing redness, pain, and skin irritation (Silva et al., 2021).

Studies further show that calendula accelerates epithelialisation and stimulates angiogenesis, resulting in faster and more effective wound healing (Ashwlayan et al., 2018). Clinical trials have also demonstrated its usefulness in the prevention of radiation-induced dermatitis and in relieving common skin irritations, burns, and diaper rash.

The soap is wrapped in a reusable beeswax cloth 🐝. Colour may vary between batches due to the artisanal nature of production. An alternative packaging option in unbleached beige parchment paper is also available.
